Dr. Forough Parvizian DDS.
Dr. Forough Parvizian-Yazdani is a graduate of George Washington University and received her Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs. Dr. Yazdani went on to Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery where she earned a DDS degree. Dr. Yazdani has a private practice in Vienna, VA and is an active member of the Metro Washington DC Iranian-American community, often hosting events at her home. She served on the Smithsonian’s Nowruz Organizing Committee in 2008 & 2009. She also served on the Board of NIAC (National Iranian-American Council). She actively promotes civic participation in the Iranian-American community through hosting fundraisers for political candidates. With Ms. Gazelle Hashemian, Dr. Yazdani co-founded Project Turquoise/Relief International, a community-based initiative to empower women, children and families affected by conflict.
Gazelle Hashemian
Gazelle Hashemian is the co-founder of Project Turquoise, a community based group raising funds and delivering service missions to displaced people around the world. Gazelle is the Founder of BlueFlower, a natural self-care company. Prior to her current endeavor, she led her technology firm which she had founded with her husband, Paragon Technology Group. Under Gazelle’s leadership, Paragon grew organically from a revenue base of $1M in 2003 to over $41M in 2011 serving the public and private sector’s management consulting and technology services. The company was twice selected to the Inc. Magazine 5000 list in 2010 and 2011. Prior to Paragon, Gazelle was a Director of IT at Broadband Office, CIO of Picus, Director of IT at Teligent, and held other management and engineering positions at MCI metro, and Hughes Network Systems. Gazelle holds a Masters in Telecommunications from the George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University.
Farnoosh Shahrokhi
Dr. Shahrokhi received her education at George Washington University with a Doctorate in Education Administration and Policy Studies in 1997. She is the Director of the Division of Education Leadership. The Education Leadership program is nationally recognized by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC). The program includes all coursework required for Virginia licensure in Administration and Supervision PK-12 and is the largest leadership program in the state. Areas of expertise include leadership preparation programs and leadership development in new democratic societies. International experience includes serving as the Academic Advisor for the Curriculum Development for Preservice Education and School Administration Leadership for Armenia Project and coordinating and delivering the education leadership component for the Middle School Social Studies Pre-Service Curriculum Development Project for Azerbaijan- Shahrokhi has been the Director and Principal Investigator (PI) for the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program of the US Department of State’s Education and Cultural Affairs Bureau from 2007-2018 and the Director of the 2017 Argentina Educators Training Program.
Dr. Neda Kalantar DDS.
Dr. Neda Kalantar was born in Chicago and grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She founded Pediatric Dentistry of Reston in 2006 and has been serving the Washington Metropolitan Area & families since 2004. She has helped coordinate numerous international and local dental/medical missions, including over 10 separate missions with Operation Smile to Nicaragua, Vietnam, and Gaza. Dr. Neda Kalantar received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 2001, and her speciality training in pediatric dentistry at Howard University School of Dentistry. She also completed a one year advanced dentistry training at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002. She has been recognized as one of the top pediatric dentists in the DC-area both by the Washingtonian, Northern Virginia magazine and other local publications.
Maryam Sarfarazi Khosrodad, MPH. MT (ASCP)
Maryam Sarfarazi Khosrodad has over 20 years of experience in advanced statistics and medical claims data analysis. She has been the senior research manager at UMWA Health and Retirement Funds since 1998. Prior to UMWA, Maryam worked as a medical technologist at Hazelton Laboratories . Her publication credits include SAS® Solutions in Identifying Hospital Readmissions, 2010 – SAS Global Forum. Maryam has a Master of Public Health from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from The State University of New York at Buffalo and certified by American Society for Clinical Pathology.
